iPhoto 4, it just gets worse

I haven't been enjoying iPhoto 4.0 very much. Beside still being too slow, it also crashed a few days ago corrupting the library. Now, every time it tries to start it crashes. Just lovely. Renaming the library directory allows it to run, but doesn't solve the fundamental problem that the old library is useless. I'm not even sure I'm going to bother trying to recover it. I'm very disappointed in this release, especially since Apple made it a paid upgrade.
