Google for your desktop

O'reilly network has an interesting article about Google Desktop. It looks like it might finally bring useful search to the desktop, well Windows desktop anyway. My only question is why the hell haven't the OS vendors been able to get this right? Even Apple hasn't been able to deliver usable search to this point, the great hope is that Spotlight in Tiger finally pulls it together. Who knows.

If I actually used Windows for any real work, I'd be all over this thing.
