iTunes for WindowsAs expected, Apple just announced iTunes for Windows with all the typical iTunes goodies, including Rendezvous sharing between machines. That is killer and I'll definitely be installing it on my Tablet PC so that I can access my music stored on the Mac while sitting in the frontyard scratching out notes in Journal. They also enabled mixing and matching of licenses between Windows and Macs so you can move music purchased in the iTunes store between machines. I'd prefer that restriction would just go away entirely and I won't be buying anymore music until it does, but this is certainly better then any of the other services that are completely locked to Windows. Also looks like some new iPod accessories, a microphone and photo storage attachment. I'd be more excited about that if I actually had an iPod. Lack of an iPod is the only reason I'd use my Tablet PC to listen to music. My problem with the iPod is that I already have over 100MB of music and deciding what to put on it would be tough. Of course with the death of eMusic the growth of my collection will slow dramatically. Looks like the iTunes store is picking up some nice new featured too, including quite a bit more music and audio books. This is good progress, it's just too bad about that whole DRM thing.
