JavaOne Java Coding Challenge
Krzysztof Kowalczykiewicz pointed out that Borland and Intel have teamed up to build a Java coding contest at the upcoming JavaOne. The challenge? Optimize the Xindice database server. It's pretty wild to see this come about.
Unfortunately, the download only works on Windows, won't even download to a Mac. It includes full Xindice source (1.0rc1) along with Alexander Schatten's Xindice browser application.
One thing I wish they'd included in the rules, "all code submitted must be donated to the Apache Xindice project after the contest". Oh well, maybe next time. Still cool to see.
